Authenticity & Provenance
Every original artwork that leaves the Leo Hydra studio is a singular, hand-made object. We take provenance seriously and provide documentation to support the long-term value and collectability of each piece.
Each original artwork is accompanied by a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity issued by the artist. The certificate includes the title, medium, dimensions, and a unique identifier tied to the work.
The Certificate of Authenticity is a document of record only and does not constitute a warranty, guarantee, or representation as to future monetary value, rarity ranking, investment performance, resale potential, or market appreciation. Leo Hydra makes no representation of any kind as to the long-term condition, collectability, or trajectory of any work. The certificate is issued once and is non-transferable save with prior written consent from the studio.
Replacement certificates, where lost, damaged, or otherwise compromised, are issued solely at the studio's discretion upon verification of original purchase, and may be subject to an administration fee at the studio's then-prevailing rate. The studio is under no obligation to issue a replacement and may decline any request without explanation. The studio may revoke any Certificate of Authenticity where the buyer has engaged in misrepresentation, fraud, unauthorised restoration or alteration, or any conduct detrimental to the studio or the artist's reputation.
Limited edition prints are produced in controlled, numbered runs. Each print is signed by the artist. Once an edition is sold out, it will not be reprinted.
Edition sizes and print specifications are listed on each product page and are correct at the time of publication. Leo Hydra reserves the right to adjust edition sizes prior to a print's public release; once an edition is announced, the stated size is final.
Purchase of an original artwork or print conveys ownership of the physical object only. All intellectual property rights — including copyright, reproduction rights, and the right to create derivative works — remain exclusively with the Leo Hydra studio, unless explicitly transferred in writing.
You may not reproduce, exhibit publicly, license, or commercially exploit any work purchased from Leo Hydra without our prior written consent. Personal, private display is permitted. Any unauthorised use constitutes an infringement of copyright and may be subject to legal action.
Original artworks are produced using mixed media. Specific materials and substrates vary by piece and are listed on each artwork's individual page. Minor surface variations, texture irregularities, handling marks, and material characteristics inherent to hand-made and mixed-media works are normal and do not constitute defects.
Recommended care: avoid direct sunlight and excessive humidity; do not apply solvents or cleaning products to the surface; handle original works only by their edges or frame.
The studio accepts no liability for any deterioration, damage, loss, theft, fading, or change in condition occurring after delivery, regardless of cause. The buyer is solely responsible for appropriate storage, handling, insurance, environmental conditioning, and preservation. Any conservation, restoration, reframing, or alteration of the work undertaken without prior written consent from the studio voids the Certificate of Authenticity and releases the studio from any remaining obligations in respect of the work.
Questions as to the authenticity of a work purchased through Leo Hydra may be directed to the studio in writing, quoting the order reference and Certificate of Authenticity details. The studio will review the work against its internal records in due course. The studio may, at its discretion, charge an administration fee for verification inquiries, particularly where raised by a person other than the original purchaser.
Leo Hydra is the sole and final authority on the authenticity of any work created by the artist and sold through this platform. The studio's determination is binding and not subject to external review, arbitration, or appeal. No third-party authentication, opinion, appraisal, or expert report shall supersede or override the studio's records. The studio is under no obligation to authenticate works presented by third parties, works that have passed through secondary sale, or works that have been subjected to any conservation, restoration, reframing, or alteration without prior written consent.
